Anthropology Museum Tour
Experience the city’s rich past on a Mexico City Anthropology Museum Tour!
Look at any “must-see in Mexico City” lists, and the Anthropology Museum will be at the top. Maybe it’s just us, but browsing ancient artifacts always feels like you’re simply “passing through” a moment in time versus truly feeling that moment. Our tour isn’t so much a tour but a way to time travel — putting you in touch with the ancient people, places, and things that came before.
When you visit the museum, you’ll notice that most of the exhibition signage is in Spanish. While this gives the museum an authentic feel, it can be difficult to understand exactly what you’re looking at and its significance (unless, of course, you know Spanish). Carlos bridges that gap by “translating” the amazing history and knowledge behind each piece, giving you an appreciation of Mexican history's complexity and the country's beauty.

What will we do?
Join us on an exhilarating journey through time at the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Our tour will guide you through the Mayan, Aztec, and Teotihuacan halls, showcasing the splendor and diversity of ancient Mesoamerican civilizations.
In the Mayan room, you'll be awestruck by the sophistication and grandeur of one of Mesoamerica’s most remarkable cultures. Admire the intricate sculptures, stelae, and reliefs that reveal the Mayans’ cosmic vision and artistic brilliance.
Next, we’ll explore the Aztec room, where you can marvel at the imposing Coatlicue sculpture, a powerful depiction of Mother Earth with its intertwined serpents. We’ll also encounter the Piedra del Sol, a monumental carving that embodies the immense power of Aztec gods and their connection to time and the universe.
Our final stop is the Teotihuacan room, where you’ll step into the ancient city that once stood as a cultural and religious hub. Wander through the remnants of this enigmatic city, taking in the inspiring Pyramids of the Sun and Moon.
